 Healing

Sometimes healing is simple. An injury, recent or old, has created  misalignment or stiffness, that manifest as pain or dysfunction, locally or at a distance, in the musculoskeletal system or in the other systems. Supporting the self-healing mechanism to restore proper alignment and mobility to the structure normalizes function and off you go, back to your favorite activities.

Sometimes healing requires much deeper exploration. There might be many superimposed injuries, there might be strong overwhelming emotions, current or past, that are imprinted in the tissues of the body. There might be trans-generational memories, living in the cells and interfering with the present moment. There might be a toxic environment, a disconnect from one’s True Nature. Here the osteopathic touch will support a gentle but profound releasing of these memories, physical or emotional, personal or familial. Deep listening will allow hidden emotions to be released and free the body, making space for the joy and freedom of the present moment. Always following Nature’s way towards balance.

Journey

I started with physical therapy in Switzerland, got my license in New York where I co-founded the New York Manual Therapy Center in 1997.  I graduated from the College d’Etudes Osteopathiques in Montréal in 2000 and continue to study with my mentor there, Philippe Druelle, DO.  I studied biodynamics osteopathy in Perpignan, France, with Bernard Darraillans, DO.

Looking to understand even more deeply the causes of diseases, I studied Total Biology with Claude Sabbah, which maps the impact of emotions on the body, the Journey with Brandon Bays, which releases those emotions in a simple and powerful way, and Family Constellations with Dan Cohen and Emily Blefeld, which looks at ancestors history to find the cause of disease or hurdles.

With my passion for sharing the benefits of osteopathy, I founded the organization Osteopathy Without Borders in 2007, and led volunteer colleagues in yearly missions to Pakistan until the pandemic stopped us in 2020. My colleagues are presently continuing the effort in Rwanda.

I have a private practice in Berkeley, CA, Into Balance on the Bay, and for a week every two months, a practice in New York City, Into Balance. I can give physical therapy receipts in New York that are covered by insurance depending on your out-of-network coverage.  I give wellness receipts in Berkeley, with no insurance coverage, as my training or NY licence are not recognized here.
